Download the Flyer for the meeting to print and share with your friends and neighbors. Though some have questioned our wisdom, most have been understanding and supportive in our decision-making during this unprecedented pandemic.

We now ask for your support and trust as we move back to our full complement of worship activities. Our return to full worship at Monte Vista will be according to the following timeline:.

We are also very concerned that the long-term effects of not getting the spiritual nourishment and the encouragement of other Christians may cause some devastating spiritual impacts that will be difficult to overcome. We understand that both physical and spiritual health are important. We know the decision to return will be difficult for some.

One of the safest places any member at Monte Vista can be is at worship service if we all take seriously the guidelines for navigating COVID and consider the impacts to one another. For those of you with questions or concerns, please contact any one of the shepherds directly. We are more than willing to discuss with you any aspect of worship and your safety.

Please refrain from using social media to question a brother or sister and their personal decision in returning to public worship. If you fail to comprehend the possible detriments of such activity within social media, contact any one of the elders, and we can explain this to you.

Our planned return to full worship service might change before we get back to normal. We are more than willing to make adjustments as necessary as conditions change, as we have demonstrated in multiple instances during this pandemic.

Our expected return to full worship service is not meant to make anyone feel uncomfortable. The fact remains that we have brothers and sisters at Monte Vista that are in high-risk groups, and each of you needs to make the right decisions for your circumstance. But, consider the value you will receive by worshipping with the saints again. Friday, June 19th, , the Phoenix City Council voted to require face coverings for everyone in public gatherings while away from their residence, ages six and above, and where it is not possible to maintain a distance of at least 6 feet.

Beginning Sunday, June 21st, , the elders at Monte Vista will honor this most recent declaration by the Phoenix City Council and require everyone attending worship service, age six and above, to wear a face covering. For our contribution, we will pass the basket to everyone as we have traditionally done, and we encourage everyone to bring hand sanitizer to use after handling the basket.

Given the rapid changes of COVID cases in Phoenix, the elders have decided to postpone reinstating our two segment worship service and will stay with the reduced format used since early May. Also, the elders find it necessary to postpone returning to Bible classes as we had planned for July 5th. Instead, we ask all our members to watch the Bible class recordings by Shawn and use this forum to promote more in-depth individual study.

While we regret a pause in the momentum recently enjoyed in returning to our regular worship cadence, the elders feel this is a prudent decision. We are blessed at Monte Vista with several tools to help us stay spiritually fed, and we encourage you to use all of them:. With this in mind, we are very focused on the importance of mitigating the spread of the virus as we assemble to worship God and His son, Jesus Christ. We also understand it is only natural that some are still apprehensive about gathering together in larger groups and how it will be facilitated to make it as safe as possible.

We are very excited to expand our spiritual feeding and get back to normal, but we want everyone to understand that we are doing so with a great sense of caution for the well-being of the membership.

We maintain the same stance on individual self-assessment of your fitness to attend the worship services. Those in high-risk groups should continue making personal choices that are best for them and their respective families. Try to pick up on the social cues someone might give you as to their level of caution. Be respectful of others Matthew We appreciate your support of our past and current decisions regarding these matters and encourage your active participation.

We do not make these decisions lightly, nor without prayer. It is so great to be able to be with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ again on Sundays.

We will continue our Sunday worship with limited services like last Sunday. Not everyone is at the same comfort level in meeting at services.

Some members would prefer not to meet for the time being, and the Elders perfectly understand that. Some members are attending worship service with Personal Protection Equipment like masks and gloves. There are some members ready to shake hands and give hugs to those that are willing.

We need to be respectful of all our members and their levels of comfort in attending services. We are requesting members not gather or linger in the walkways of the auditorium or in the hallways allowing others to comfortably enter or exit the building with minimal contact with each other.

While many of the restrictions regulating social activities in our state remain in place, we also see growing trends to loosen restrictions responsibly and return society to pre-COVID activities.

Our Sunday worship will be of the same reduced format we had before suspending services see details below. We will not have classes, and worship will consist of only one segment. The decision to attend service should be one of careful consideration as to how potential exposure to others might impact your health.

There is no greater blessing than to praise God with your church family.
