The mission of the Consortium of Eastern Ohio Master of Public Health CEOMPH program is to prepare current and future professionals through accredited education, research, and service to improve the health of communities in eastern Ohio and beyond. The mission is accomplished through collaboration among its partner universities and agencies.
Globally-oriented leaders, educators, and practitioners engaged in their community and responsive to the public health needs at the regional, national, and international levels. The program recognizes the rich dimensions each individual contributes to the education, research, and service mission. CEOMPH promotes the value of differences and inclusion through interactions among its students, faculty, staff, and stakeholders.
Finally, the program energizes the supports all who seek to promote the importance of health and quality of life as human rights. CSU has final decision-making authority of acceptance once the international student documents are received.
The admissions portal is open through SOPHAS the common public health program application system for summer and fall 1! MPH students are required to complete 42 semester credit hours, which includes six core courses, generalist track courses, electives, and a capstone project. Group presentations will be given at the end of the course. Biostatistics in Public Health —This course will cover principles of biostatistics in the context of public health applications.
It will include the basic and advanced statistical techniques for analyzing and investigating public health issues including disparities. Statistical package SPSS will be used. Social and Behavioral Sciences in Public Health --This course will cover social and behavioral science concepts and theories and their application to public health issues. Health Services Administration in Public Health --Management principles, including personnel administration, leadership, systems thinking, budgeting, financing, and continuous quality improvement as they pertain to public health, planning and evaluation principles, public health policy, and data sources.
Policy and Environmental Sciences in Public Health --This course provides an overview of public health policy, policy development, and advocacy.
Environmental health issues serve as an example of the intersection between policy and science.
